update:

I took part in this in June. 1 month to produce a 20 thousand-word screenplay. I'm a screenwriter from school, but I'd never written anything longer than a 13-page short before. I was pleasantly surprised to make it here. Granted it needs some more drafts; I can't stand the MC right now.

I left after issue 1 in April, after 16+ years. It was time for a change.

This is what I began: a zine about comicbooks. I'm putting the 2^nd issue together right now, and I'm already close to the APA's membership.

It's currently a week before October - the month before NaNo. I've got some serious mental steeling to do!

It's many months away now (I'm in February snow, and this will be in the heat of June), but my next competition and kick in the pants will be Script Frenzy, a month-long competition to produce a screenplay.

I'm dusting off screenwriting chops I haven't used in now 17 years!

I can comfortably confirm that as of 9:55 PM on November 28 I became a 4-time winner of NaNoWriMo.

Currently I'm working on finishing my novel... I made it to 50 K, but not the end of the story. Currently I'm on the denouement. Hopefully I will have it all done by 11:59 tonight, the finish point.

The Pre-Nano Rush

It's now less than a week until my fourth NaNoWriMo. Our launch party is tonight, and I've been trying to get all my other writing projects caught up first.

I submitted my 97^th Comicopia zine this week, and sent in both a letter to the last Alexiad and The Knarley Knews. Hopefully now I'll get my corrections done for the 2^nd Edition of Hunters Inc. before November 1^st as well.

The only thing I still haven't really finished are my notes for my novel. I have my high concept idea and the two main characters named, but haven't yet given them physical descriptions, and still have to create more to make more words possible... plus I have to work out several scenes.

I thought I would use the snowflake plot method (here it is), but as I fiddled with it it felt too formalized. I'll use it for other projects, just not this one.

Fan-writing extravaganza!

In the past month or so, I've generally been catching up on writing letters for fanzines... a double-dose for both Alexiad and The Knarley Knews. I also completed another zine for Comicopia in that time.

* A full page update on ZineWeb

* a page on that site for APAs

* an entire wiki site devoted to all kinds of fan activity
