Turning Life Into Fiction by Robin Hemley I've owned this book for well over a year now, and took forever to start reading it.

Well, I'm still not finished, but with every page I've read, I wish more that I'd gotten to it sooner.

This book deals with all the ways to use life experiences, memories, and events that you witness as fuel for great fiction. Robin teaches you how to "borrow" from life without risking libel on someone you know, how to use a journal as a tool to do this, and all of the writing elements that could be taken from life: plot, characters (the obvious one) and specific scenes.

I highly recommend this book as a tool for all fiction writers struggling for ideas.
