A Writer's Journey With Jeff
Sunday, September 07, 2003
The 61st WorldCon finished last Monday. Five days of meeting other writers (many), seeing the Hugo awards - and dreaming of getting one some day, talking with members of my online writing groups... it really energized me and led to me adding a lot of writing projects to my plate!:
- I got the guidelines for another anthology from one of the other members of that writing group. I've already begun thinking of what I'll write. This will make my third story submission for this year.
- I've decided to attempt the Nanowrimo competition this year. It's an annual competition where entrants try to write a 50,000 word novel from November 1st to 30th. You're turning your internal editor off here, trying for quantity and not quality.
I've felt a mental block for writing novel length works for a long while. I'm hoping this will help me to shatter that block.
- I've been in talks with the editor at Devil's Workshop about my Superlink project proposal. No concrete answers yet, but I'm hopeful.
Add this to my Comicopia APAzines, my monthly newsletter... I'm going to have a busy last quarter of the year!
